Hector Berlioz, Georges Bizet and Leonard Bernstein help us to continue our "alliteration" series as we explore the music of these fine composers. With Berlioz, we travel to Hungary ("Marche Hungroise") to Rome ("Roman Carnival Overture") and to the center of Paris ("March to the Scaffold"). The two Bizet offerings represent his most famous works ("L'arlesienne Suite #1" and "Carmen Fantasie"). Bernstein's contribution to our program includes a tribute to Mstislav Rostropovich ("Slava") and his enduring masterwork for the musical theater ("West Side Story"). Leslie Neighbor Stroud returns to the Tri-County stage as soloist for this concert. Ms. Stroud is a Marion, MA resident and the principal flutist in the Tri-County Symphonic Band. She will be performing the "Carmen Fantasie" by Bizet.
